Kobo Aura HD Reader – five key features

    High defintion screen: At 265 dots per inch (dpi) and 1440×1080 resolution, the Aura’s screen is designed to show text, images and graphics much clearer.
    Fast processor: Kobo says the Aura’s 1GHz processor makes it the fastest ereader on the market – but we will look forward to putting that to the test in our labs.
    Stores thousands of ebooks: There is just 4GB of on-board storage, but that is expandable up to 32GB via a micro-SD card. You can carry up to 3,000 ebooks.
    Built-in night light: The ComfortLight in the Aura HD is a front-light for reading in bed. It is adjustable and only illuminates the page.
    Launches in April: The new ebook reader will go on sale in the UK on April 25. It will be available in Ivory, Espresso and Onyx colours. We don’t know how much it will cost here yet, cIt may seem unnecessary to have a high definition ebook reader, as text is already displayed pretty clearly on current models.

But the new Kobo appears to show pictures and graphics better, and so if you enjoy books, magazines and newspapers with plenty of images and photos, this could be a plus.

However, in that case you should probably consider whether you would be better served with a tablet. These devices feature colour screens with much higher resolutions, though they are generally harder to read in bright sunlight.
